Job Description
Provide direct support to the Naval Air Systems Command Marine Corps Tactical Unmanned Air Systems Program Manager. Liaison between the Program Manager and offices within the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD). Advise the Program Manager of discoveries of importance, of problems anticipated or impending, and actions required relating to acquisition programs. Coordinate Navy positions to OSD staff and management for acquisition programs relating to unmanned aerial vehicles and associated systems. Review and coordinate on program and PPBE documentation to ensure program viability and technical accuracy. Draft POM Program Issue papers to comply with USD (AT&L) programming guidance. Work closely with OPNAV UAS resource sponsors to identify and evaluate potential areas of concern in program performance and budget execution. Display working knowledge with DoD acquisition directives (such as DoD 5000.1), policies, procedures and production disciplines involving procurement, configuration control, quality assurance, testing, and reliability requirements for weapons systems programs. Oral and written communication with all levels of government, military, and commercial personnel in formal/informal situations. Will work with Microsoft Office Suite. May require some travel to remote sites. Will be responsible for supervising around five (5) employees.
Required Skills
Bachelors Degree required with a minimum of sixteen (16) years experience. Must have knowledge in six (6) of the following areas: acquisition management, requirements documentations, requirements coordination, budget estimating, production management, procurement planning, configuration management or program analysis. Work experience as a manager or analyst in the defense weapon system acquisition process, including, developing, planning, scheduling, implementing and administering various stages of programs. Professional experience related to the acquisition, maintenance or operation of UAS, target or drone systems would be helpful. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to maintain a clearance at the SECRET level.
