About the Emergency Department Service the emergency needs of the Sterling community including patinets from family practices, nursing homes, the Colorado Department of Corrections and smaller towns within 35 miles Number of Beds: 9 Number of professionals in ED: 3 Patient to professional ratio: 4:1 Annual average patients/cases: 8800 Equipment: Phillips Defib, Agilent Monitors

Responsibilities: - Provides managerial and/or clinical support to emergency department patients and staff
- Supervises employees and participates in selection, orientation, counseling, evaluation and staff scheduling
- Responsible for emergency staff competencies
- Has 24 hour responsibility for the provision of high quality, safe and cost effective patient care, environmental control and customer service
- Will function as the Director of Nursing during his/her absence
- Maintains a depth and breadth of clinical and management knowledge to advance the nursing profession
- Inspires leadership skills in all nursing positions
- Demonstrates clinical proficiency in the care of patients of age groups served by the assigned clinical units
- Demonstrates Service Excellence in daily activities by modeling Service Standards and by reinforcing efforts of others with positive feedback and recognition
- Has the clinical competence and knowledge required to assess outcomes related to the age group(s) served in the assigned units.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: A current or temporary Colorado or other compact state RN licensure (or the ability to obtain one) is required Demonstrated leadership ability and at least 3 years clinical experience relevant to the patient population and scope of care of the ED department The demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective communication and working relationships with staff, physicians, patients and their families is required
Prefered Qualifications: Educational preparation at the level of a Bachelor's Degree in healthcare is minimally preferred, Master's Degree in healthcare is strongly preferred Additional related education and/or experience preferred
