External Description: Anchorage, Alaska -- Providence Health and Services Alaska is recruiting for an experienced physician leader to serve as chief executive of its large employed physician group. Must be a physician ( M.D. or D.O.). In addition, Health Care Management MBA degree preferred. Formal management training and experience in quality management and resource management in health care required. Minimum of five years medical practice experience in a physician group practice or clinic setting. Clinic medical director experience required. Successful experience with and advocate of managed health care delivery systems and philosophy preferred. The chief executive will provide overall physician and administrative leadership to the Physician Services Organization, a multi-specialty group serving the Anchorage and Matanuska-Susitna Boroughs. Position oversees clinic operations and programs to ensure quality of care, operational efficiency, financial strength and successful performance improvements standards.Providence Alaska's Physician Services Organization is a multispecialty group with approximately 60 physicians and mid-level providers and over 100 staff serving greater Anchorage and the Matanuska-Susitna Valley. Consists of five outpatient clinics (with a sixth opening in 2010) and two hospital service medical offices. The organization is expected to grow nearly 20 percent between 2009 and 2012, adding facilities, staff and physicians to support that objective.
