Position Description: The AEG sales team seeks a self-motivated, outgoing individual to perform business development sales activities for AEG Events including: Amgen Tour of California, Los Angeles Women's Tennis Championships, Bay to Breakers, STAPLES Center event suites, Home Depot Center, etc. Sales goals will be established for all events and be tracked by management teams. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Business Development Account Executive will be responsible for selling Festival Vendor Partnerships for AEG events (ex. Events such as the Amgen Tour of California and Bay to Breakers have on site vendor or exhibitor festivals where partners can interact with fans in promoting their products); selling other “Hybrid” event packages that include both tickets, festival space and other marketing elements and assisting in business to business sales efforts for ticket packages and event suites. The Account Executive will also be responsible for creating and implementing sales plans for specific events, creating professional and effective sales presentations, generating leads for events through cold calling, attending networking and prospecting events, developing relationships with clients to grow business for all events, and working along side Sales Coordinator to provide excellent customer service and fulfill all elements of each client agreement. Account Executives will be responsible for utilizing and maintaining clean and effective contacts (sales leads) in coordination with our contact management system – GOLDMINE. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules including nights and weekends to reflect the business needs of the company. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - 75% Selling Festival Vendor partnerships and Hybrid packages for AEG Events. These sales activities will include game/event duties, business-to-business sales calls and prospecting events. - 10% Customer Service related activities. - 10% Assisting sales efforts for STAPLES Center and AEG Event Suites and other ticket packages - 5% developing sales plans and creating sales presentations SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS: - Special Projects as assigned by management. - Special sales efforts as assigned by management. SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY: Account Executives must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skill and abilities. - Polished presentations skill, with an ability to think and react to situations confidently. - Excellent relationship building and people skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - A go-getter, with drive and initiative to succeed and develop a career in the sports and entertainment industry. - Assertive, Persistent and results oriented. - While looking to succeed personally, ability to support team environment and adhere to departmental guidelines. - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to use and pick up on complex computer programs. - Ability to consistently re-prioritize based on sales needs. - Ability to provide sales reports and contact status back to management on a daily and weekly basis. - Ability to thrive under a competitive sales environment. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: - Education: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides required knowledge, skills and abilities. BA from a 4-year college preferred. - Experience: 2+ years experience in direct sales or client account management. Business to Business Sales, Sponsorship Sales or Ticket Sales experience in the sports and entertainment industry preferred. - Experience and knowledge in cycling, tennis, and running.
