Position Description:
This individual will possess experience analyzing health care enrollment and claims data, and clinical data from disease management and other types of care management programs. As the IT Healthcare Programmer Analyst, you would conduct reporting and analysis efforts to help insure that new clinical initiatives better meet the health care needs of Americans age 50 and older. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Helping to design and run reports describing engagement in new clinical initiatives, and the relationships between care processes and outcomes
  • Monitoring the quality of data, and ensuring data integrity and security
  • Managing and conducting the process used to pull data for reporting
  • Producing metrics for health plans that will result in more effective and affordable healthcare
  • Examining the efficiency and quality of care that doctors and hospitals provide to patients
  • Making recommendations on ways to improve efficiency, increase quality of care, and lower costs
  • Using relational database tools to obtain health insurance claims, enrollment, and other types of data from one or more data warehouses and prepare person-level files for health services research and evaluation projects
  • Applying graduate level statistical training in creative ways, to carry out rigorous econometric or statistical analyses designed to test hypotheses of interest or to evaluate health improvement program impact
  • Using the best statistical and programming techniques to find the best answers to our clients' questions about how to maximize the quality and reduce the cost of health care

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • 3 - 5 years of statistical analysis experience
  • 3 - 5 years experience with SAS or similar statistical package
  • 3 - 5 years experience with OLAP tools
  • 1 - 3 years of healthcare claims data analysis experience
  • 1+ years experience with data warehouses, data marts, and operational data stores (ODS)
Assets:
  • Experience with Crystal Reports
  • Post graduate degree in a related field (Math, Statistics, Economics, etc.)
  • Healthcare clinical data analysis experience
  • Familiarity with HEDIS or other regulatory reporting
  • Advanced level of skill with MS Excel and Access
