- Responsible for configuring, managing, monitoring, and maintaining the government network infrastructure.
- Manage network design, device selection, installation, configuration, optimization, and troubleshoot the government network.
- Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
- Evaluate LAN/WAN performance and capacities to identify problem areas or bottlenecks.
- Recommend and implement solutions, software packages and tools to improve network performance and reliability.
Qualifications:
- Successful candidates should have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science (or similar technical field) and 5 years relevant professional experience; or commensurate education and experience.
- Proficiency with Cisco and Nortel devices, VLANs, VPNs, LAN/WAN technologies, and routing and switching.
- Expert knowledge of core networking technologies and concepts such as Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols.
- Experience with Unix operating system.
- Experience analyzing, planning and designing successful local and wide area network infrastructures, including F5 devices, routers, firewalls, switches, servers, and related hardware, software and services.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with USAF/DoD systems a plus.
- Experience with USAF GCCS system a significant plus.
This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance you need to be a U.S. Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
