| Job Description Principal Quality Assurance Engineer-0900206 Description
-
Continuously improve appraisal and internal failure costs for the plant. Improve equipment, methods, materials, skills sets, process designs, and product designs.

Support continuous improvement activities utilizing process capability studies, machine and gauge R&R studies; and utilize/develop other statistical problem solving tools.

Continuously improve customer satisfaction through solving quality related customer complaints, solving problems that affect on-time-delivery, and providing information. example - self audits).

Implement Operator Certification program within the area, including assessing, training and mentoring of the operators.

Short and long range planning for reducing appraisal,internal failure costs and capital improvements in inspection areas.

Represent the Quality function as a member of cross functional area teams resolving quality issues in support of the team objectives including but not limited to: On Time Delivery goals, Past due reduction goals, Scrap reduction goals.

Utilize 8D techniques to investigate root cause analysis and perform effective positive corrective action.

Lead Kaizen events and be knowledgeable with flow lines.

Will be trained in L6S and will work towards Black Belt certification.
Qualifications Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing with 10 years experience or Masters Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Manufacturing with 7 years experience.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization, customers and vendors; Proficient at leading teams and proven leadership skills; large dollar project management experience; Working knowledge of AS9100 requirements for quality systems;
Proficient in 8D root cause analysis and 6 Sigma tools; Able to perform and evaluate Process Capability, Machine Capability and Gauge Fixtures
Desired:
Prior experience with high tech bearing and tooling and gauging design; Quality Engineer Certification (ASQ); Knowledge of AS400 and SAP highly desired.
