We have excellent medical and dental benefits, 401k etc., etc. Competitive Salary EOE General Purpose: The Area Director of Rehab Services is accountable for the strategic planning, implementation, and direction of rehabilitation services in their assigned areas. The specific area of accountability is the development and fiscal integrity of rehabilitation services through sound management of the human resources and ensuring the quality of clinical programming to accomplish optimal resident outcomes in order to meet or exceed the goals of the organization, while exhibiting exemplary customer service to all. Their focus is on the development of Rehab Service Managers and the department development in each of their facilities. Essential Job FunctionsThis company expects their stakeholders to promote an atmosphere of teamwork with other stakeholders, and promote a positive environment that promotes hospitality, dignity, and comfort for its residents. Therefore, the following list of duties is not all-inclusive: 1. Resident Care Upon physician referral the rehabilitation therapist will follow the standard discipline-specific format of evaluate, plan, implement, and re-evaluate throughout the treatment process. 2. Area Director Responsibilities Stakeholder possesses the ability to manage, expand and enhance rehab departments. Area Directors possess extensive knowledge and understanding of the Rehab Service Manager job duties, overall Rehab department functions, systems, and data point management, proven leadership abilities, team building abilities, and ability to handle multiple site responsibilities. Stakeholder must be able to problem solve and provide alternatives to situations that occur. Must be able to deal with difficult situations as they occur and have the ability to cope with continual interruptions and display a large degree of tact when dealing with Senior Rehab Team, FAB Teams, fellow Area Directors, Rehab Service Managers, physicians, residents, administration, associates, stakeholders, visitors, government agencies, and the community. Stakeholder must demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: · Assist Senior Rehab Team with establishing systems in facilities and/or assisting with establishing new systems within the company as requested · Ongoing assessment of efficiency · Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action in a timely fashion · Customer service model for home office and facility leaders and staff · Others as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed by the State Director and/or VP of Rehab 3. Fiscal Responsibilities Responsible for all aspects of fiscal management and outcomes for the rehabilitation departments within their assigned area, resulting in attainment of business goals for the organization, including but not limited to: · Effectively manages facilities and staff by the benchmarks of the data points to promote best resident outcomes · Shares and teaches facility and departmental data points with/to staff and develops their understanding of the relation to resident outcomes · Internal revenues to operations budget · Manages cost per minute · Assistance with equipment along with program development and community facility growth · Review and monitor financial report and data points including efficiency reports and, on a routine basis, implement improvement plans and monitor for potential areas of concern · Actively participate in the annual and ongoing goal planning and departmental budget process with the Rehab Service Managers and team. · Initiate the shared billing process where applicable. · Ensures shared therapy arrangements are coordinated and expectations for billing and payment are met · Works closely with Clinical Reimbursement Specialist (CRS); educating, mentoring, and coaching Rehab staff and facility MDS Coordinator with regard to ARD and RUGs tracking, and in determining the appropriate assessment reference date (ARD) and communicates this data to the rehabilitation staff. · Assists in the training of calculating the preliminary RUGs category based upon minutes and days of therapy derived from sections P and T of the MDS utilizing Rnet. · Monitors and trains on the Triple Check process per facility · Monitors and coordinates the completion of reports in relation to the denial process per company policy. · Assist facility with staff to include input regarding completion of staffing matrix Provides input to upcoming resident admissions to determine appropriate therapy disciplines available for treatment. 4. Human Resources Management: Area Director is accountable for all aspects of personnel management. Successful outcomes of personnel management are the attainment of organizational goals related to human resources and the presence of a highly competent, efficient and stable work force delivering quality rehabilitation services. Specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following: Personnel management · Manages staff turnover · Monitor management of personnel files · Monitor staff efficiency at or above benchmark · Interviewing and selection of qualified associates · Involvement, development, and implementation of effective orientation process for Rehab Service Managers and/or therapy staff as needed. · Mentoring of Rehab Service Managers and/or therapy staff within the company. · Coaching and goal setting to ensure staff growth and development throughout the year · Provides feedback, guidance and tools necessary for staff development and attainment of set goals throughout the year. · Effectively participates in performance review process; to include completing reviews in a timely manner · Coaching to resolve personnel performance problems through termination if necessary. · Effective delegation and monitoring of assigned tasks · Coordination of staffing and scheduling of staff, students and volunteers · Perform, promote and disseminate required documentation, reports and performance reviews in a timely manner · Works with facility and regional staff to provide effective coaching to resolve personnel performance problems through termination if necessary. · Maintain records and reports of departmental business and disseminate in a timely manner as directed · Maintain and participate in ongoing structured staff meetings and in-service programs to effectively ensure timely communication, exchange of information and associate development · Communicates HR and payroll concerns in a timely manner to the appropriate contact; i.e. Human Resources Director, Payroll department, Business Office, State Director of Rehab Services, home office Human Resources contact · Establish and/or maintain relationships with local campuses and therapy programs to develop clinical affiliations · Facilitate routine visits to local campuses, trade shows, conferences, etc. · Coordination of staffing and scheduling of students and volunteers · Input in the coordination of Rehab Service Manager scheduling 5. Program Development: Direct the growth, development and maintenance of the rehabilitation clinical programs within area in order to meet the needs of the client population and the business goals of the organization. Specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, the following: · Clinical programs to address standards of care · Education of physicians regarding rehabilitation services guidelines · Evaluate programs and effect changes as necessary to improve programs and assure compliance with regulatory requirements · Prepares reports accurately and timely. · Maintains current in new techniques and trends within their individual discipline and other disciplines through staff in-services · Attends meetings, special courses, whenever possible and shares acquired information with staff. · Prepares and provides lectures to community groups, staff and family members as requested · Maintains good public relations with all community resources · Rehabilitation programs of six and seven day coverage, as appropriate. · Assesses out-patient services · Assesses current or potential facility specialty services · Maintenance of outcome data collection and reporting for all programs. · Maintains and tracks medical record review for compliance and quality resident care · Ensures effective integration of the department and facility staff that complements the overall organization’s plans. · Adheres to, keeps current with, and reviews policies and procedures as enumerated in the Rehabilitation Services Policy and Procedure Manual with department/facility personnel as necessary. · Assists in the development of rehabilitation tools, forms, procedures/policies and submits them to the Senior Rehab Team for revision, dissemination and implementation as appropriate. · Demonstrate an understanding of the financial implications of treatment · Participate in facility and departmental data points trainings and develops an understanding of the relation to resident outcomes. · Medical record review for compliance and quality resident care · Payor denials · Oversees that all Rehab department/facility routines and procedures are carried out as outlined. · Actively participates in Quality of Life initiatives. 6. Professional Behavior · Demonstrate professional conduct and ethics according to facility policy and procedures. · Function accordingly to the profession's standards of practice and ethics. · Consistently observe home office, facility administrative and clinical policies and procedures. · Act as liaison between the home office and each facility · Attend scheduled appointments and meet obligations. · Handle multiple work demands, and variable schedules and work loads in a reasonable amount of time. · Adjust and modify priorities and personal behaviors to the situation and · Actively participate in quality improvement activities. · Accurately assess own strengths and weaknesses and assist in · Proactively seek out new knowledge and actively pursue learning using a variety of methods to maintain and update clinical skills and competence. · Actively contribute information in meetings, conferences and informal Qualifications: Education, Credentials and Experience: Based on scope of practice, the manager will be either a Physical therapist (PT), Physical therapy assistant (PTA), Occupational therapist (OTR), Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Speech-language pathologist (SLP).

Job Requirements: · A minimum of five (5) years experience as a licensed therapist or therapist assistant with a minimum of three (3) years preferred in a supervisory capacity. · Must possess strong management abilities including planning, organizing, motivating and leading. · Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook and internet navigation. · Extensive knowledge in RSM job duties, systems, and data point management, proven leadership abilities, team building abilities, and ability to handle multiple site responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Rehab Team. · Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality. · Effective verbal and written English communications skills. · Good communication skills including ability to handle complaints, objections and resolve conflicts. · Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives. · Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure. · Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity. · Strong analytical and problem solving skills. · Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions. · High degree of teamwork and flexibility are essential. · Ability to deal with new tasks without the benefit of written procedures. · Approachable, flexible and adaptable to change · Ability to make decisions and have the willingness to work with the realization that errors may be of serious consequence. · Follows directions, retains learned information, cooperates and functions as part of a team, as well as be an effective team leader. · Working knowledge of mathematics and statistical data. · General working knowledge of all professions in rehabilitation services (including regulators, payor and professional association recommended scope of practice) in order to direct programming in those areas. · Based on scope of practice, the therapist must be a Physical therapist (PT), Occupational therapist (OTR), or Speech-language pathologist (SLP), Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA), Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) as follows:
Physical Therapist: 1. Graduate of an accredited program of physical therapy, culminating in a minimum of a bachelor-of-science degree. 2. Valid physical therapy license in the state(s) where services are rendered.
OR
Physical Therapy Assistant: 1. Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program, culminating in a minimum of an associate degree. 2. Valid physical therapist assistant license or equivalent, in the state(s) where services are rendered. OR
Occupational Therapist: 1. Graduate of an accredited program of occupational therapy, culminating in a minimum of a bachelor-of-science degree. 2. Current certificate with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy or eligible for certificate as required by state guidelines. 3. Valid occupational therapy license in the state(s) where services are rendered. OR
Occupational Therapy Assistant: 1. Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy assistant program, culminating in a minimum of an associate degree. 2. Current certificate with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy or eligible for certificate as required by state guidelines. 3. Valid occupational therapy assistant license or equivalent, in the state(s) where services are rendered. OR
Speech-Language Pathologist: 1. Graduate of an accredited program of speech, hearing science and language development, culminating in a minimum of a master’s degree. 2. Valid state license or equivalent, in speech-language pathology services at the clinical level in the state(s) where services are performed. 3. Clinical Competence Certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
