Aviation (ATC) Research Analyst / System Engineer

Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, mathematics or a related scientific field is required.

MUST have analysis or system engineering experience with air traffic systems.

Requires nine or more years of experience in realted software and/or systems engineering; systems analysis; systems design.

Experience in analysis and requirements definition of large complex systems as well as a background performing statistical analysis techniques, to include advanced mathematical applications and optimization algorithms.

Experience with System-of-Systems Engineering (SoSE) is strongly preferred.

Experience with Object Oriented Design, Service Oriented Architecture, Oracle Data Bases, and Use Case definition are desired. Experience within a Linux / Unix / Oracle environment is required.

MUST be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident, and able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. H1B sponsorship is not available.

Job Description :
EG&G Technical Services (a Division of URS Corporation - a Fortune 500 Company), in support of the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center, has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Aviation Systems Research Analyst to join our System-of-Systems Engineering (SoSE) effort.

You will perform research, analysis, and development of new concepts in air traffic flow management. You will be part of a team of senior-level engineering professionals, and will analyze large data sets to better understand the behavior of air traffic; write technical reports to document results; perform functional analysis of various air traffic management and air traffic control systems to determine how they perform and should interact; develop new ideas for supporting traffic flow management including the design and development of functional prototypes; and define requirements for future enhancements to the operational traffic flow management system.

Additionally, you will plan and design systems modeling, simulation and analysis; perform highly complex systems research; monitor and oversees the completion and implementation of technical products; review related literature and current practices and recommend corrections in highly complex technical applications and analysis.
