The Sr. IT Application Architect will report to the Director of Technical Architecture and must possess strong development and consulting skills. The successful candidate will spend the majority of his/her time working on architecture engagements with development teams, so a proven track record in consulting is vital. Experienced in problem solving, exploring alternative approaches, preparing documents and explaining architectures to sponsors, stakeholders, non-technical staff, architects and developers taking an overall system view rather than a view of one specific application. The successful candidate will need a solid development background with experience in successful delivery. He/she will also need strong architecture and design experience gained across a variety of technologies and business areas. He/she will need strong problem-solving skills, and have experience in the diagnosis and resolution of complex technical issues including: performance, concurrency, code quality / maintainability, reusability, and portability. The architect must have significant experience with designing and implementing ASP/BPO solution architectures including charge back methodologies. Practical experience of solving some of the key technology challenges faced by an ever changing health care environment. The architect will work with senior technical figures across Ingenix, so strong leadership, good communication skills, and a high degree of credibility are essential in being able to perform architecture engagements.

The Application architects need to be able to deal with any of the myriad technologies in use at our company, so good knowledge of legacy, current, and emerging technologies is essential. Specific position requirements are

* Considerable knowledge in storage management including two way replication
* Considerable knowledge of applications and development and lifecycle methodologies
* Considerable knowledge of emerging technologies
* Considerable knowledge of the importance of quality standards, an ability to implement appropriate standards and improve processes
* Significant skills in understanding and focusing on the your clients needs and goals, establishing credibility and building relationships
* Considerable knowledge of operating systems including, but not limited to Unix, Windows, and Linux
* Skill in solid decision-making and proactive problem solving
* Skill in developing, testing, implementing, and evaluating innovative solutions
* Skill in acting with integrity and respect for others, demonstrating teamwork, and managing conflict
* Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
* Ability to establish a vision and gain alignment
* Ability to facilitate and accept change
* Ability to compress time to market for business opportunities
* Consistent striving to enhance depth and breadth of expertise in technical specialty
* Create conceptual Data Model for the database interaction.
* Closely work with Enterprise Architects, Developers, and Business Partners while developing design solutions.
* Exposure to Agile methodology a plus.
* Development using relational database preferably using Oracle, MS SQL, DB2, and MYSQL
* Ability to create cost-estimates and software/system development Business Cases.
* Should have excellent communication, negotiation, decision making, and problem solving skills.
* Prepare the as is and to be architecture deliverable
* At least four years experience, including architecture, in managing applications for message-oriented middleware such as Websphere and BizTalk;
* Ability to combine multiple technologies to provide alternative physical solutions
* This role also provides oversight on application designs, and development for new product initiatives as well as the maintenance of existing applications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Integrate your knowledge of existing enterprise-class application architecture, technical standards, and abilities to solve our businesses most complicated problems to effective create strategies and plans technological solutions. Articulates verbally and in writing to IT and business personnel the vision, action plans, project status, and other items to establish and maintain alignment with the corporate and IT strategies. Determine scope and provides level of effort estimates for new product development Utilizes tools creatively to diagnose and resolve unusual/undefined problems. Analyzes accumulated data to identify ways of optimizing performance in a complex environment. Reverse engineer legacy application both internally developed and packaged creating as-is architecture and future state architectures that incorporate best practice infrastructure and application architecture designs.

Education: Bachelors degree or related experience area required.

Experience: 7-10 years of professional level experience in two or more environments (e.g., midrange systems, and client/server, databases, networks, communication methods and/or tools); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

7 or more years in IT Application Architecture with 3 or more years in high-level problem solving and application development, and technical design experience and demonstrated experience in working with ASP/BPO architecture as well as documenting legacy applications. Wide range and in depth experience and understanding of application analysis, design, implementation and support focused on stabilizing and improving performance and reliability.
- Relevant Bachelors Degree such as Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Proficient problem solving and fact finding skills
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to define the complete technical infrastructure environment
- Ability to maintain current knowledge of all relevant technology developments and seek opportunities to deploy new technologies that benefit the client
- Ability to provide technical leadership on project engagement, including serving as a resource to the project team and the client by evaluating and proposing technical alternatives for resolving business and technology issues
- Ability to create architecture scope, definition, construction, and execution
- Ability to design and develop cost effective solutions that meet functional, technical, and performance requirements
- Create service-based architectures promoting shared services and common components. Drive this vision and work with the product lines to identify, implement and promote shared services and common components.
- Promote the use of the SDLC on all project engagements.
- Motivates and inspires other team members. - Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
