Director, Surgical Services

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Vice President for Patient Services, the Director of Surgical Services is assigned 24-hour responsibility for the patient care, staffing, staff competency, quality management and review, and operational management or the care areas. This includes administration, management, operation and quality assurance/improvement of services provided by the department. The Director is responsible to ensure that all services are provided in accordance with Children's Hospital Policies, The Joint Commission requirements, California Children's services requirements, CDPH, and that they are consistent with the standards and licensure/educational preparations of each discipline.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters in Nursing, Health Administration, Business Administration, or other related field

RN Licensure in California

At least five (5) years in administrative or supervisory experience

Experience in Pediatrics

Experience in Surgical Services

Strong communication skills

The candidate must have a broad knowledge of the disciplines represented in the department and of the laws and regulations pertaining to services provided by the department.
