Thomson Reuters Professional Information, Infrastructure and Research (PIIRS) Delivery Services is an exciting and dynamic organization within Thomson Reuters that provides system support, enhancements, and consultation for the selection and implementation of Thomson business systems. It develops business systems that support business operations such as ordering, subscriptions, pricing, billing, finance, publishing, manufacturing, and distribution.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
This position will provide functional support and facilitation in supporting and enhancing Thomson Reuters SAP business system platform as a member of the (PIIRS) Delivery Services department. Primary responsibilities will be to provide ongoing support for the SAP FI modules. We are looking for an experienced Sr. SAP RTR Functional Business Analyst to play a key role in supporting SAP RTR functionality globally. Responsibilities include working with key personnel from very dynamic business units and technical peers to understand business requirements and perform fit/gap assessments, configuration, provide functional and technical recommendations and inventive solutions to business requirements, and implement and test approved solutions for Thomson Reuters business units. The Sr. SAP RTR Functional Business Analyst in this position will work with a virtual PIIRS technical support team based in India, and PIIRS management and staff in the Eagan campus. The Sr. SAP RTR Functional Business Analyst will display a strong understanding of business processes and technical requirements in functional areas covering General Ledger processing, Profitability Management, Reporting, and other finance areas. This person will have the facilitation and communication skills to collaborate in a global team setting and the functional skills to design and implement solutions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for an experienced Sr. SAP RTR Functional Business Analyst to play a key role in supporting SAP RTR functionality globally. Responsibilities include working with key personnel from very dynamic business units and technical peers to understand business requirements and perform fit/gap assessments, provide functional and technical recommendations and inventive solutions to business requirements, and implement and test approved solutions for Thomson and TLR business units.
- Initial Focus will be learning the Thomson SAP Finance solution and providing support to each Thomson Reuters business unit. In this role you will assist in all necessary phases for support and minor enhancements - including functional requirements gathering, fit/gap analysis, functional and technical design specifications, development/configuration activities, execution of appropriate unit test scenarios to ensure solution integrity.
- Future opportunities include assisting with implementations and working on large enhancement initiatives to existing applications.
- Participate in project management efforts including the definition of project scope, review of implementation options, timely completion of status updates, assessment of project status, identify solutions to maintain project timeline, resource leveling, and leading/facilitating meetings across technical and business areas
- Collaborate with other technical staff to research, evaluate, develop, test and implement new and/or currently unused functional and technical solutions to enhance the value of business systems
- Collaborate and communicate across a wide variety of audiences within the technical organization and business end-user community
- Manage multiple and competing priorities
- Assist in systems and operational support of several SAP RTR modules and related financial bolt-on applications, including periodic on-call support and resolution of critical/time bound issues
- Coach junior staff and provide input/assistance based on related experience and expertise
- Assist with IT-related Sarbanes-Oxley requirements including control assessments and system documentation requirements
- Support departmental objectives and activities as well as personal job-related skill development and career-growth
- Broad understanding of core business processes and the technologies deployed to support it

- Four (4) year Bachelor's degree in MIS or other related field
- Preferred experience with SAP platform, specifically configuration and/or development
- 5+ years professional, technical experience with 3+ years business system/application experience
- Software implementation and testing experience
