CT Technologist - Radiology
Operates computed tomography (CT) scanner to produce cross-sectional radiographs of patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Administers contrast media orally and intravenously under the direction of a Radiologist.
Licensure, Registration, Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.) Basic Life Support (BLS) from an approved American Heart Association training program or CPR for the Professional Rescuer from the American Red Cross.
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology and A.R.R.T. certified.
Experience: Must have one year of experience in a C.T. department that is doing at least 15 procedures daily.
Qualifications and Skills: Have a thorough knowledge of computed tomography and its application. Be capable of working cooperatively with others. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge ad skills necessary to provide the care appropriate to age of patients served in the assigned area. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status in addition to being able to interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs.
