Eye Care Centers of America is seeking an outstanding individual for the position of Level II Technician. Summary of job is to provide desktop hardware and software support with associated server and network support as it’s related to the desktops. Provide store server hardware and OS support when required. Provides guidance to Level 1 Technicians on application changes, system changes, troubleshooting procedures and resolution procedures. Install, modify, and make repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems and provide technical assistance and training to system users as escalated from Level 1 Technicians.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

1. Load, maintain and troubleshoot specified software, such as operating systems, desktop tools, enterprise applications onto desktop computers and verify correct system operation.

2. Install, maintain, repair and replace desktop computer equipment

3. Identify, analyze and communicate recurring problems due to system changes, training and user errors. Review and enhance documentation for troubleshooting and resolution procedures for level 1 support.

4. Load, maintain, troubleshoot hardware and Operating System issues on Store Servers. Develop and manage new load images for Store Servers and desktop computers

5. Respond to client inquiries concerning system operations and diagnose system hardware, software, and operator issues.

6. Coordinate activities with help desk, network services, or other information system groups.

7. Provide updates, status, and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication.

8. Call software and hardware vendors to request service/replacement regarding defective products and replace defective or inadequate software packages.

9. Properly utilize tools such as Microsoft TechNet, online support web sites provided by hardware and software vendors and application help menus.

10. Participate in after-hours and off-hour coverage in rotation or as on-call reinforcements for critical events. Participate in monthly/period maintenance evening events.
