The consulting Pharmacist performs various duties related to telephonic consultation pertaining to prescription orders. Primary Responsibilities include:
- Verifies prescriptions
- Takes new prescriptions and evaluates patient histories
- Interprets physicians' prescriptions and creates orders, accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from the computer system and verifies whether the order is reimbursable.
- Consults with customers, patients and/or physicians regarding use of medications and potential drug interactions.
- Conducts Quality Assurance and verifies the accuracy of all prescriptions
- Handles drug utilization review calls
- Analyzes and investigates concerns.
- Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise.

- Pharmacist license in good standing from CA
- BS in Pharmacy or PharmD degree
- 3 years experience as a pharmacist in retail or hospital/facility
- Ability to type 25 wpm while talking on the phone is essential to this role
