We have an immediate opening for a Manager of Finance and Accounting to work with our senior management team at our headquarters in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. Minimum Qualifications · U.S. citizenship · Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field · At least seven years accounting experience including experience with a professional services consulting or information technology firm · At least two years experience with federal government contracting and knowledge of DCAA regulations · At least three years experience managing an accounting team · Proven ability to develop and enforce applicable financial and project accounting practices · Financial planning and reporting, budgeting, banking and cash management experience · Prior experience dealing with external auditors and other finance-related relationships · Strong computer skills including Windows XP, Word, and Excel, including proficiency with creating and maintaining complex Excel spreadsheets
Preferred qualifications: · CPA and/or MBA · Prior experience using Microsoft Dynamics (Solomon or Great Plains ) or Deltek · Experience with Corporate Tax Compliance

Position Overview The successful candidate will be required to have the knowledge and prior experience of conducting business dealings with both governmental and nongovernmental agencies, and an understanding of contractual requirements. Interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with senior managers, bankers, external auditors, consultants and other employees is essential.
The Manager of Finance and Accounting will have “hands on” responsibility for the successful maintenance of corporate accounting system. Other responsibilities include: develop a profitable financial business plan, forecast and monitor the cash flow, prepare and present accurate financial reports. S/he will oversee the daily operations associated with the accounting, time keeping, employee expense reporting, payroll processing, invoicing, contracting, and purchasing to include the following:
