Position Overview
As a member of the IT team, you will provide support with personal computer and LAN operations to employees at all Hoosier Motor Club locations. Through oral and written communication you will resolve issues regarding hardware and software use and needs.
Responsibilties

Provides support to users relating to both hardware and software problems on their personal computers.

Troubleshoots, repairs, maintains, installs, and performs testing on various computer equipment, peripherals, data communication, and computer network systems. Uses electronic test equipment, such as optical power meters and multimeters, to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions. Uses computer-aided diagnostics and digital logic devices as needed to locate malfunctions. Calibrates test equipment for proper operation.

Assembles, installs, configures and tests computer equipment or units of local area networks requiring use of standard interface protocols.

Completes work orders such as installing equipment, connecting and moving devices or creating components of autonomous networks, installing disk drives, correcting definitions on data switches, protocol converters, etc.

Consults with and assists manufacturer's representatives in the installation of new computer equipment; exercises total responsibility for routine installation or modification projects; assists others in repairing, installing and testing complex pieces of equipment or local area networks.

Prepares and submits vendor warranty claims, parts, and documentation associated with warranty repairs (with authorization from vendors).

Confers with manufacturer's representatives, for replacement parts and warranty issues;

Develops and maintains software and hardware inventory and tracking systems; orders, stocks, and stores electronic components.

Performs preventive maintenance for computer, data communication, and/or peripheral equipment; tests and adjusts to appropriate standards.

Fabricates cables for use in interfacing peripherals with computers, other peripherals, and networks.

Maintains computer network documentation; updates computer maintenance manuals.

Maintains knowledge of the latest technology by attending network and telecommunications workshops, seminars and training courses.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Associates degree or equivalent education; 1+ year’s of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience with RAS, network communications, and LAN. Ability to assemble and disassemble a personal computer.
