Manages $30+ million of spend of electrical or mechanical commodities associated with new products being developed and introduced to market.
Responsible for representing the supply chain function while working with engineers.
Operate in a global environment while managing high complex, low volume products.
Evaluate bids, selecting and recommending suppliers.
Evaluate risk in the Supply chain and working with Corporate Supply chain to advert issues.
Negotiate and award contracts.
Qualifications:
BS degree in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering.
15 years experience in Procurement of direct materials in a manufacturing environment with increasing levels of responsibility.
5 years experience purchasing environmentally sensitive materials while developing and supporting ongoing cost reduction programs.
6 years experience issuing RFIs and RFPs.
7 years experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Additional Skills:
MBA Preferred.
Certification from Institute of Supply Management.
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
3 years experience with PeopleSoft Purchasing or Oracle.
Ability to track product cost changes as the design changes.
Experience negotiating claims and resolving disputes with suppliers.
Experience performing financial analysis for purchasing.
Demonstrated experience forecasting requirements, issuing periodic reports on trends, negotiating pricing, discounts, and contracts.
Demonstrated track record of successfully buying in competitive environment of commodity price escalation while maintaining or improving material pricing.
