Position Overview:

As an experienced loss mitigator, the incumbent will work in the servicers' primary servicing facility under Radian's supervision, will have an understanding of process improvement, training and project management, will have have a high level of communication skills, both oral and written, will be trained by Radian personnel to learn mortgage insurance coverages, guidelines and Radian philosophies and fiduciary responsibilities.

  • Develop and maintain "in-house" relationships with servicer's default servicing representatives, including management, front line staff and vendors with a focus on avoiding or minimizing losses.
  • Review, identify and facilitate appropriate handling of loss mitigation opportunities. This includes loan level review of Radian insured loans on servicer's systems.
  • System access to include servicer's system of record as well as all ancillary systems used in servicing/MI operations. Appropriate candidate should have working knowledge of servicing systems.
  • Analyze available information and events for decision-making purposes
  • Negotiate default resolutions with the borrower in accordance with Radian guidelines
  • After a probationary period, be given delegated authority sufficient to approve most workout situations on-site in accordance with Radian guidelines
  • Act as liaison for Radian loss management operations team, as needed
  • Recommend strategies, processes and/or procedural changes to Radian and/or servicer to improve loss mitigation results
  • Coordinate and deliver training, as needed
  • Identify and recommend strategies for use of additional programs from Radian's Servicer Assistance Program
  • Manage implementation of agreed upon solutions or programs
  • Facilitate the tracking of program results to measure its success

Education:

Bachelor Degree preferred.

Experience:

5-8 years experience

Skills:

  • Minimum of five (5) years front line experience with high LTV mortgage loss mitigation activities in a high-volume servicing environment (any mortgage product) with a working knowledge of collections, bankruptcy and foreclosure activities including Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and U.S. Bankruptcy Codes. Workout programs include modifications, repayment arrangements, short sales, short refinances, claim advances, and deeds in lieu of foreclosure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong negotiating and organizational abilities.
  • Candidate must maintain high level of professionalism and have good inter-personal skills as he or she will be representing Radian at a client's servicing facility.
  • Proficient with the following computer applications: MS Excel, Word, and Outlook (e-mail).
  • General knowledge of mortgage insurance coverages required (primary and pool).
  • Prior supervisory experience desirable but not required.
