Who We Are Looking For:
Nor-Cal is seeking qualified Machinists, from intermediate to journey level, with varying machining experience. We want individuals who are comfortable in a custom, one-off fabrication environment. CNC opportunities include horizontal and vertical machining centers as well as vertical lathes. Opportunities also exist for manual engine lathes, Bridgeport type vertical knee mills, and horizontal boring mills. Experience with fabrication, machining weldments, and light welding is preferred. Much of our work is similar to one-off machining of castings. Our highest paid machinists possess broad backgrounds with manual machines, including large horizontal boring mills, vertical turret lathes, with some CNC experience.
We currently have the following opportunities on swing shift:
Horizontal Boring Mill machinists, some CNC experience preferred
Vertical Turning Lathe machinists with CNC experience
Other opportunities on both shifts include:
Bridgeport type vertical knee mills, prefer two plus years job shop type experience
CNC Vertical Machining Centers
For all applicants, whether CNC or Conventional, experience with stainless steel machining processes and techniques is preferred. Applicants should have good to excellent blueprint reading skills and good to excellent math and/or trig skills. Must be able to accurately use precision measuring devices.
Position requires standing, or walking, 6 to 8 hours per day. Must be able to lift, carry or move 50 lbs on a frequent basis. Ability to work 2nd shift may be required depending on shop loading. Starting wage depends on applicable experience level.
