Senior Medical Information Manager Job Summary
Responsibilities Description: The Senior Medical Information Manager is a professional with scientific, clinical and therapeutic area expertise responsible for providing medical and scientific support for AstraZeneca's marketed products, new indications for current products and compounds in development. The incumbent provides scientifically accurate and balanced information to both internal stakeholders and external Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) in a way that strategically supports business outcomes, is aligned with Regulatory and compliance practices and is consistent with Medical Affairs and Therapeutic Brand Teams' objectives. Major Responsibilities Direct Brand Support Integrate significant scientific expertise with knowledge of the Brand Team strategy to: · Create medical information documents · Contribute to the content and development of promotional messaging and training. Monitor the medical environment and apply scientific expertise, integrated with regulatory and compliance knowledge, to: · Identify and analyze scientific trends regarding customer inquiries · Gather and interpret appropriate medical environment information Scientific Content Integrate product, scientific, and medical information expertise with knowledge of regulatory guidelines and brand strategy to: · Collaborate with MA to develop content · Gather and provide actionable information that enhances the value and appropriate use of AZ products to internal stakeholders. · Help develop, review, and approve education and presentation materials in support of internal and external customer needs · Create and/or review submissions to external Drug Information Resources and Evidence-Based Practice Centers. Provide support for the development of scientific content · Writing/reviewing medical/scientific content (hot topics, sensitive issues). · Develop content for compendia submissions. · Apply scientific expertise to consult with Regulatory/Labeling committee to ensure accurate interpretation of clinical data as it applies to label information. · Monitor the medical environment to sustain expertise in AstraZeneca product knowledge, drug information management, disease state management, new therapies, competitive products and features. · Develop, review and approve content for Medical Information Database including Managed Markets documents · Review and approve Medical Affairs presentation/publication material submitted for scientific exchange · Develop, review and approve clinical Data on File Packets to support promotional claims · Respond to Professional Information Requests, by integrating product, scientific and medical information expertise with compliance and regulatory guidelines to ensure relevant and appropriate responses are provided to customers. · Sustain expertise in AstraZeneca product knowledge, drug information management, disease state management, new therapies, competitive products and features. · Integrate scientific expertise with knowledge of regulatory and compliance guidelines to ensure comprehensive review of promotional materials submitted into AstraZeneca Approval Process (AZAP). · Provide Medical Information support for company sponsored scientific booths at conferences and meetings. Training · Help to develop, review and approve education and presentation materials in support of internal and external customer needs by integrating product, scientific and medical information expertise with knowledge of regulatory and compliance guidelines. · Provide product/disease state training for members of the Virtual Scientific Exchange Center · Train and mentor other skill center members, providing performance guidance and coaching Qualifications · Advanced degree in Pharmacy (PharmD preferred), Pharmacology, Science or equivalent clinical experience · Pharmacy Licensure preferred · 2+ years experience in pharmaceutical industry based Drug Information Delivery or equivalent industry experience · Demonstrated expertise in drug information communication and management · Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills · Knowledge of FDA requirements · Ability to apply Regulatory and Compliance guidelines to Drug Information delivery · Understanding of the information needs for various customer segments · Project Management leadership experience · Strong leadership ability Preferred Background · Clinical Pharmacy experience with patient care exposure · Drug Information Residency or equivalent experience Skills and Competencies · Expert Scientific Knowledge · Leadership Skills · Drug Information Management Expertise · Regulatory and Compliance Expertise · Organization Savvy · Communication Skills · Presentation, Facilitation and Instructional Skills
