Clinical Information Systems Analyst
Blackstone Technology Group, a full service staffing and consulting company established in 1998, is currently conducting a search on behalf of our client for a full time Clinical Information Sytems Analyst in the Denver area. Title: Clinical Information Systems Analyst Duration: Full Time, Direct Hire Location: Denver, CO Start Date: ASAP
This position involves participation in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of clinical information systems, including working with 3rd party vendors for issue resolution. Basically, the company has various oncology treatment centers across the US and need an analyst/techician that understands the workstations and equipment as well as someone that has worked in a Linear Accelerator/Physicists software environment. Must know how these workstations are set-up. Will be working to keep these stations going (by helpdesk calls with things going wrong with equipment, as well as going to new locations where the oncology equipment is set-up). This position will involve extensive travel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide assistance in the planning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of clinical information systems and their integration into the environment. This includes R&V systems (IMPAC, LANTIS, VARIS, etc), treatment planning systems (CMS, Eclipse, etc.) and their integration with Linear Accelerators, PET/CT and other Imaging/Localization and treatment devices.
Serve as a liaison internal team and clinical system vendors during the installation and maintenance cycles as additional centers are acquired and existing centers are upgraded.
Coordinate multi-vendor interface connectivity between clinical systems to support imaging, treatment planning, and billing.
Assist in Clinical Information Systems projects including installations, upgrades and coordinates with regional operations personnel and clinical staff to ensure implementation and training are completed on schedule and with minimal interruption to the clinical environment.
Works with the Financial / Clinical Systems Manager to create employee training schedules and determine appropriate curriculum for in-house training on IMPAC / LANTIS systems. Coordinates with vendor’s training teams to ensure training is provided according to standards and training content is consistent with guidelines for system usage.
Assist in the implementation and ongoing management of HL7 charge export interfaces between Intergy and record/verify systems.
Provide technical support via telephone for IMPAC, LANTIS, CMS and other clinical systems as necessary.
Essential Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and routine duties simultaneously. Work closely with the professional staff to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner. Ability to provide support and technical assistance to users Support clinical software programs at corporate and treatment center locations Technical project implementation, communication, and written documentation skills Ability to work closely with other I.T. staff to ensure that network, security, and HIPAA concerns are properly handled.
Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school plus two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Overall familiarity with radiation oncology as practiced in a clinical environment. Applicant needs to have an understanding of HIPAA security and privacy regulations and the ability to translate these into real-world systems configurations.
In addition, hands-on experience with any of the following medical technologies is a plus: IMPAC Multi-Access, MOSAIQ, LANTIS, Varis / Vision, CMS, Eclipse, Prowess, ADAC, GE CT imaging products, linear accelerators, DICOM, PET, and BAT systems. Experience with the following I.T. technologies is also beneficial: RDBMS (MS SQL, Oracle, Pervasive SQL, PROGRESS), Windows 2000 / 2003 Server, Citrix Metaframe, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, WAN Networking (T1, DSL, Frame-Relay, etc.), LAN Networking (Switches, Routers, etc.), serial interfaces, and CAT5 cabling.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical theory. Ability to apply concept such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
