FINANCIAL ANALYST

CHAPEL HILL, NC

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

To administer the company's budgeting and internal financial reporting processes, to manage special projects as requested, and to respond to miscellaneous needs for ad hoc financial analyses.



POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Proactively manage the internal financial reporting process. Ensure that reporting is delivered accurately and timely, and that the reporting continually evolves to meet the organization's changing needs.
  2. Continually strive to improve financial reporting to improve its relevance (i.e. - timeliness), reliability (i.e. - accuracy), and completeness.
  3. Provide value-added commentary and analysis to complement the financial reports.
  4. Develop the Company's financial reporting processes with an enterprise-level view. Control all financial numbers reported within the Company to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  5. Manage the Company's budget and financial forecasting/modeling processes.
  6. Develop ad hoc financial reporting as requested.
  7. Serve as the liaison between the Accounting department and some of the company's business units, including the Trust Company, Settlement Services Division, etc.
  8. Participate and/or manage special projects as assigned.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Four year degree in Business or Accounting.
  2. At least four years' experience in a similar role, preferably with a mid-sized company.
  3. Technical accounting experience and ability.
  4. Experience with mid-range enterprise financial software, and excellent command of Microsoft Office software. Lawson Software experience preferred.
  5. Sound knowledge of accounting practice and theory.
  6. Strong customer service focus.
  7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  8. Ability to overcome obstacles to accomplish objectives.
  9. Energetic, positive attitude.
  10. Ability and willingness to handle increasing levels of responsibility.
