Data Center Security Leader

Reporting to the FDA ICT21 Account Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) has the following responsibilities:

o Managing the IT security metrics program for the IT system

o Collecting and analyzing data and coordinating with the CISO as appropriate

o Implementing IT security policies as directed by and in coordination with higher authority

o Preparing or overseeing the preparation of security plans such as those required for certification and accreditation

o Periodically reviewing computer systems and networks to ascertain if changes have occurred that could adversely affect security

o Immediately reporting any security violation, attempts to gain unauthorized access to Sensitive data, virus infections, or other events affecting the security of FDA systems and networks to the appropriate Computer Security Incident Response Center (CSIRC)

o Serving as the principal point of contact for all matters pertaining to the security of IT systems

o Ensuring that system users receive initial computer security indoctrination and annual follow-up training as required by applicable directives

o Enforcing an access control policy by which only authorized persons can gain access to FDA IT systems

o Enforcing the capability to track user activity on a system and reporting any discrepancies or misuse of automated resources

US Citizenship and ability to pass Extensive Background Investigation
Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience. May have Master's degree in related field. Often holds intermediate-level certification(s) in work field.
Typically 8+ years of relevant experience
CISSP Certification; Proficiencies in Networking Technology, ie Cisco Certs, Windows Certifications
5-8 Years Experience in Data Center Environments

o Minimum of 5 years information technology security operations experience.

o Minimum of 10 years overall information technology experience, preferably in support of data center operations.

o Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) in good standing
