ALTHOUGH THIS PRIMARILY WILL BE A MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY POSITION, OCCASIONALLY IT WILL BE NECESSARY TO FLEX HOURS TO ATTEND TO EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF PM SHIFT AND SATURDAY SHIFT.
Job Summary:
The clinical educator functions in the role of expert clinician and educator. In collaboration with the nursing staff, clinical nurse specialist (CNS) and nursing managers, monitors the clinical care of patients and provides clinical support to improve patient care, staff satisfaction, patient satisfaction and patient outcomes. Incorporated within each of these role functions, the clinical educator is a role model, patient advocate, change agent, leader and cost effective practitioner.
Minimum Required Experience
Five years of current clinical experience in clinical area. Computer skills to include
word processor, spread sheets.
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related field required.
Masters Degree in Nursing or related area preferred.
Special Skills
Ability to work independently, self motivated and self directed, set priorities
and manage work within established timeframes, read and analyze technical
material, communicate effectively verbally and in writing and present a positive mental
attitude. Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle highly confidential
information. Must have a working knowledge of Nevada Board of Nursing
rules and regulations. Demonstrates the ability to understand and instruct employees
on the unique care of the patient population in their clinical service area.
Licensure
Minimum - Registered nursing in the state of Nevada
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Preferred - CNOR Certification
