With Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska, you'll serve the over 50 rural communities in the Yukon Delta Region who come to us for care. Serving the people of Southwestern Alaska, the Yukon-Kuskokwim Hospital is a 50-bed general acute care medical facility. Fully accredited by JCAHO, services include adult med/surg, pediatrics, obstetrics, emergency room, as well as outpatient family medicine clinics, pharmacy, lab, and imaging.


Position Summary: Analyzes contracts and confers with various department heads to detect ambiguities, inaccurate statements. Omissions of essential terms, and conflicts with possible legal prohibitions.

Key Responsibilities:
> Reviews and initiates contracts.
> Converts agreements into contract form or prepares amended agreement.
> Initiates changes in standard form templates.
> Examines estimates of material, equipment, and production costs, performance requirements and
delivery schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy.
> Prepares bids, process specifications, test and progress reports, and other exhibits that may be required.
> Reviews bids from other firms for conformity to contract requirements and determines acceptable
bids.
> Negotiates contract with customer or bidder.
> Awards and administers contracts, may include final approval of payment.
> Requests amendments to, or extensions of contracts.
> Oversees contract compliance personnel who maintain contract and contractor status database.
> Reviews all correspondence concerning contractors and responds as necessary.
> Establishes and maintains contact with contractors to ensure the smooth working of the contract
awarding process.
> Acts as liaison between company and subcontractors as necessary.
> Initiates Request for Proposal (RFP) process for corporation departments.
> Participates in Contract Management teams to support contract and subcontract compliance.
> Provides negotiation support as required by corporation departments.
> Maintains Contract Management data on computer system.
> Supports training activities for Contract Management personnel.
> Ability to act as a temporary back-up for a project manager on contracts.
> Other duties as assigned.



Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Business or 4-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience/training.

Minimum Experience: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, time value calculations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Equipment/Tools: Computer, copier, calculator, contracts management software.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribe style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
