Job Description
The Business Relationship Officer is responsible for the development of new business by actively pursuing new individual and business customers and by becoming a visible and involved member of the community. Responsible for the expansion of existing relationships by proactively researching customers’ needs and matching bank products and services to those needs.

Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all deposit, loan, mortgage, trust and investment products and services of the bank.

Responsible for originating apartment, commercial real estate, SBA and 1- 4 mortgage loans. Partner with loan processing unit regarding loans status and assist in obtaining necessary loan documentation to ensure timely funding of loans.

Follow appropriate internal control procedures regarding the assessment, control and reduction of risk regarding waste, fraud, abuse and mismanagement. Exercise care/diligence in the practice of internal controls ensuring records, reports and related documents are completed. Consistently follow appropriate practices/policies/procedures to help attain organizational results and compliance.
Skills/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Banking required. Minimum 6 years banking experience in sales environment including 3 years in a commercial bank with commercial lending responsibilities. Successful lending/sales track record. Thorough knowledge of bank operations, procedures and regulations, credit analysis, commercial loan underwriting and /or portfolio management and thorough understanding of loan porduct lines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must be proactive and motivated with a high customer service orientation and a solutions-oriented approach. Must be highly organized with strong ability to multi-task. Able to plan, organize and monitor activities according to priories. Demonstrated personal computer proficiency with spreadsheet (MS Excel) and word processing (MS Word) applications is required.
