Sr. Mechanical Engineer - (HVAC Facilities): Leo A Daly

As a fully competent Registered Professional Engineer, performs work involving the application of all conventional aspects of mechanical engineering to the functional area of the assignment. Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Conceptualizes the initial mechanical design approach for major phases of large facilities type projects, or has overall responsibility for the mechanical engineering work on a project of limited scope. Plans, schedules, conduct or coordinate mechanical engineering work. Also, supervises the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with City, State, and County officials, and other outside agencies. Resolves a variety of complex problems, (i.e., conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements). Serves as a liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams. Reviews plans and prepares or reviews technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates. Participates in contract bidding and administration; observes project action on site. Supervises the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in Texas or the ability to obtain licensure within six months of hire.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or Microstation.
• At least ten years continuous experience in the A/E consulting field after licensing and immediately prior to this assignment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Thoroughly versed in energy optimization, facility commissioning, utility negotiations, and thermal systems planning.
• Broad experience in building and system modeling and life cycle analysis.
• Deep experience in facility energy auditing and/or whole building commissioning.
• Professional certifications in the energy conservation field such as LEED-AP, CEM, CBPC, CMVP, CEP.
• Team player with appreciation for associated disciplines (ie. architecture, electrical systems, life safety and codes, structural systems).
