At K&G Fashion Superstore, we are looking for a dedicated Key Carrier to join our team as a leader in the clothing retail industry. K&G offers competitive pay, benefits, and an opportunity to grow with an industry leader.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Monitor store operations and control inventory when Manager on Duty including conducting customer and employee bag checks 2. Understand and ensure that the proper security procedures are followed for store openings and closings including ensuring that the store is secured and that alarms are correctly aremed and disarmed. The Key Carrier cannot respond to alarm calls from ADT 3. Plan and assign daily goals, tasks, and assignments for employees and ensure proper completion when Manager on Duty. The Key Carrier is not to create or adjust the weekly schedule or adjust employee time records nor is the Key Carrier to have access to employee files. In addition, the Key Carrier cannot act as a witness when Personnel Improvement Forms or Performance Reviews are delivered 4. Drive sales and increase store’s sales productivity 5. Manage and control shrink within Company’s acceptable level 6. Practice shortage awareness and make sure management is aware of shortage and overage problems 7. Assist with physical inventory counts 8. Notify the Asset Protection department or management of any suspected or observed dishonest activity 9. Maintain possession of store keys at all times and do not duplicate keys or allow keys to be duplicated 10. Prepare bank deposits according to Company policies and procedures ensuring accuracy and that deposits are properly secured in the safe before leaving the store. The Key Carrier is not to take the deposit to the bank at any time 11. Handle tax-exempt transactions, post voids, check approvals, employee transactions, and returns over $250. 12. Ensure customers receive outstanding customer service by creating a friendly environment, resolving customer service situations, and maintaining standards 13. Communicate and work with associates, customers, and vendors in a professional and courteous manner 14. Ensure accuracy and expediency of store receiving process when Manager on Duty 15. Ensure that all company policies and procedures are consistently upheld by employees when Manager on Duty 16. Monitor and maintain the cleanliness, neatness, and safety of the store 17. Maintain all merchandising standards, display presentations, signing standards, and monitor inventory control 18. Regularly communicate with Store Manager, or Regional Manager when appropriate, on all store matters 19. Assist Store Management with recruiting and training employees. The Key Carrier cannot make job offers to new employees 20. Attend store meetings 21. Attend required training classes as needed 22. Update reference and training materials, memos, books, and Employee Handbook as directed 23. Handle all company assets according to Company policies and procedures 24. Comply with workplace safety procedures 25. Maintain Company’s customer service standards 26. Adhere to all Company policies and procedures 27. Any other duties as assigned by management
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS: Must successfully complete a background check.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or education/experience equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Prior retail experience required. Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Strong customer service and sales skills. Strong organization, communication, and time management skills. Strong knowledge of Company products and services. Good computer skills and knowledge of store machines. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Ability to move and handle merchandise generally weighing 0-50 pounds. 2. May be required to walk, stand, kneel, stoop, and lift during the majority of work shift. 3. Ability to climb ladders. 4. Required to use hands and fingers; handle or feel objects, or tools; and reach with hands and arms. 5. Specific vision abilities may be required for this job and include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as, depth perception. 6. Ability to communicate clearly with associates and customers.
