Job Summary: The Speech Language Pathologist utilizes discretion and independent judgment in performing age-specific and developmentally appropriate assessments, goal setting, treatment planning, and interventions within scope of practice and in accordance with policies protocols, techniques, and guidelines; meets qualifications, licensure/certifications, and competencies as defined in the department-specific Plan for Providing care; applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice ad continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills' utilizes knowledge in the delivery of quality whole person care' utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize customer service in a manner that supports the I CARE initiative, excellence in customer service, safe patient care, and professionalism; contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population; performs other duties as assigned. Job Specifications: Masters of Arts or Masters of Science Degree in Communicative Disorders required. ASHA (American Speech and Hearing Association) Certification and CDL required; BLS certification required. One year of in-patient, outpatient, or home health experience preferred. New graduates may be considered based on affiliation-appropriate experience. Able to: read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment; perform patient care activities. Able to: relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; walk for long periods, perform fine hand coordination; lift at least 50 pounds repetitively to move/transport patients, equipment, and supplies; drive an automobile. *HJ* HJWD *MH*WD *SH*WD
