Systems Engineer II Job Description: SUMMARYThe primary purpose of this position is to assist Information Services (IS) development management in ensuring quality delivery of applications, enhancements, and maintenance by providing guidance in the use of development methodologies and toolsets. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned: - Demonstrate an understanding of systems design and development and perform programming and analysis duties with minimal direction.
- Draw on extensive experience with Information Technology (IT) to satisfy development tasks; recommend business solutions.
- Recommend business processes and product improvements within corporate functions; consider the business partner’s overall organization and objectives and work within functional areas to achieve results.
- Promote and use the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies; advise management of methods to improve processes and remove non-value-added activities; lead process improvement activities.
- Anticipate problems; propose and apply multiple solutions; participate in the development of tactical technical strategies to business partner problems.
- Proactively seek tough assignments; make decisions with minimal direction; act as a coach and influence tactical direction.
- Plan, schedule, and control projects using established processes; participate in establishing project requirements.
- Interface with and make presentations to business partner management members and peer groups on complex issues.
- Demonstrate effective listening, persuasion, writing and verbal communication skills; interface and coordinate vendor products and services to meet customer and support group needs.
- Understand financial concepts; provide input to financial management activities.

Experience with conducting formal training, using data-analysis and interactive-development techniques, and evaluating new technologies and techniques is desirable.
