Network Engineer

***Candidates must be local to the Kansas City area***

Responsibilities:

Individual will participate in the installation, monitoring and maintenance of any and all network equipment including Cisco switches, routers, VPN appliances and firewalls. They will also be working with network carriers and WAN services primarily Frame Relay technologies as well as supporting Internet services and fiber and copper cabling infrastructures. This position will also participate in the ongoing administration of multiple Management/Monitoring Tools, including Tivoli, HP OpenView, CiscoWorks, SolarWinds etc.

35% Design, installation and change activities associated with LAN/WAN and related infrastructure.
40% Problem management, problem determination and resolution.
25% Develop and maintain technical procedures and documentation and administrative activities.

Required Skills:

5+ plus skills as a Network Engineer supporting Cisco products specifically Routers, 6509 switches and firewalls/VRF.

Strong analytical and trouble shooting skills.

Knowledge of networking, primarily TCP/IP LAN protocol and Frame Relay WAN protocol.

Desired Skills:

CCNP Certification

Experience in VRF, MPLS and Firewall context
