Teachers: Woonsocket Education Department

TEACHERS – The Woonsocket Education Department seeks candidates for the following positions:

§ Occupational Therapist – urgent need

§ Literacy Coaches: One for elementary level; one for secondary level - To provide school-based support implementation of the district’s literacy curriculum and to increase student achievement through enhanced instructional delivery and job-embedded staff development. The elementary level position requires elementary certification. Both positions must have special educator certification. Positions require at least five years of teaching experience.

§ Teaching Partners – requires elementary certification

o Will provide instruction in all elementary school subject areas following the Grade Level/Span Expectations for Grades K-5;

o Work 130 days

o Will partner with other teachers by teaching classes while the classroom teacher is attending professional development.

o May be assigned to cover classrooms for professional development purposes ONLY. On days when there is no teacher out for professional development, the TEACHING PARTNER will partner with teachers by working with those students identified as most in need of smaller, more individualized learning settings under the supervision of the classroom teacher.

o Will take attendance, follow lesson designs developed by classroom teachers, design and implement performance based learning experiences, assess students using a common task with appropriate criteria based on GLE/GSEs.
