Summary Description

Centralize and manage a global QA department and apply industry best practices to ensure world class quality and robustness in all next generation digital audio and video products and licensed technology deliverables. Grow the QA functional maturity level by establishing and maintaining QA processes and metrics, selecting and deploying software test tools, building and maintaining test and compatibility labs, and working with outside test labs. Improve synergy and efficiency of various global QA personnel.

Essential Job Functions:

•Manage a global QA department and budget
•Ensure QA processes and metrics are in place to ensure sufficient test coverage of product requirements and to ensure production readiness
•Centralize and synergize existing global QA personnel to ensure consistent best practices and efficiency at all Dolby geographical locations
•Provide a QA team that is efficient and agile to accommodate planned as well as spurious demands
•Ensure the QA staff are properly directed and skilled in industry best practices
•Work with Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Support functional managers to establish a global process and tools for bug reporting and tracking
•Ensure that the QA Staff is equipped with tools, equipment, and lab space necessary to efficiently perform their duties

Requirements:

•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 10 years professional experience in quality assurance
•Expert knowledge and experience of SQA industry tools and best practices
•7 years minimum experience in designing and implementing regression and system test plans and test cases, using software test tools, scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, and Python and bug reporting tools such as TK/GNATs, Bugzilla, and Jira
•Experience in embedded real time audio and/or video processing quality testing and computer networking
•Strong analytical and organizational skills
•Ability to work independently to achieve goals
•Great people skills, including the ability to collaborate successfully with functional managers from Engineering, Marketing, and Customer support
•Ability to multitask , perform under pressure, and meet deadlines
•Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, coaching, and mentoring skills
