University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview , Minneapolis , MN , has a full time opening for a pediatric echocardiography technician to performs non-invasive cardiac diagnostic imaging in pediatric patients with complex congenital heart disease. Candidates must demonstrate ability to evaluate the cardiac status by using a logical and systematic approach to analyze the heart and related structures segmentally. Segmental approach includes the determination of the following anatomic features: cardiac position, atrial situs, atrioventricular connection, ventricular morphology, ventriculoarterial connection, and great vessel relation.

Minimum qualifications:

• Applied Science degree in Non-Invasive Imaging or Bachelor's degree, RDCS in Adult and Pediatric
• 5 years exp and BLS within 3 months.

Preferred qualifications:

• AS/BS, RDCS in Adult and Pediatric
• 10 years experience and BLS within 3 months.
• Ability to evaluate pediatric patients with complex congenital heart disease.
• Ability to provide relevant echocardiographic data, making quantitative calculations and communicating the impressions for the physicians.
• Ability to write a preliminary echocardiogram report.
• Extensive knowledge of the incidence, causes, inheritance patterns, and pathologic consequences of congenital malformations.
• Knowledge and understanding of surgical procedures for the repair or partial repair of congenital heart disease and the various modifications encountered for different congenital disorders.
