**** Position Location is Covington, VA****

The Resident Field Engineer responsibilities will include the maintenance of 3 large QCS systems and the associated actuators which include the 1180, 1190 Nexus and 800xa systems and controls. Control tuning experience is highly desirable as these systems are large coated machines with multiple cd and md control packages. The opportunity exists that in addition to the duties of the Resident Senior Field Enginner, the ideal candidate may assume the dual role of Site Leader.

Plan and execute, with minimal professional guidance, complex semi-technical field assignments involving the installation, modification, test, inspection or repair of Company products and equipment. Coordinate work with other groups to ensure meeting commitments typically on remotely operated maintenance and testing equipment. Recommend measures to improve operations and customer service.

Typical duties/responsibilities for field service may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Perform complex field service operations that typically present unusual problems requiring strong technical skills. Construct complex prototype models or simulated systems, as requested.

Provide leadership in the assembly and operation of laboratory and field service equipment. Conduct tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of equipment and procedures. Record, compile and reduce data for analysis and assist in related assessment and preparation of reports.

Troubleshoot and repair equipment, applying own knowledge and experience. Recommend changes such as new equipment or modified procedures to improve performance and customer satisfaction. Conduct detailed inventories and inspections to determine necessary maintenance and repairs, and assist in determining resource requirements.

Lead the performance of assigned field services projects such as non-destructive examinations and analysis. May be responsible for direction, analysis and reports involving complex test projects.

Assist in planning and coordinating team efforts. Guide less experienced technicians and instruct them in proper and safe operation of equipment. Often work non standard schedules at field locations with exposure to varying environmental conditions.

Experience with 1180 & 1190 quality control systems is required. Experience on Cognex Web inspection, Impact, Voith and Honeywell actuators is desirable. Control tuning experience is highly preferred. 5+ years of direct related experience is required.

An A.S. degree or related technical degree is highly desired or a combination of experience and demonstrated accomplishments required for a non-degreed candidate.
