#236009 – Portal Manager



The Portal Manageris responsible for creating and distributing messages related to T-Mobile’s business, with an emphasis on managing overall user experience for the enterprise web portal (OneVoice).



Position will work closely with all lines of business that have a presence on OneVoice to ensure that the enterprise portal is optimized to fulfill their needs for delivering news & content and completing tasks. Position will be responsible for all incoming change requests for T-Mobile customer websites from business stakeholders. Manages workflow, prioritizes and meets deadlines, and handles multiple jobs/projects simultaneously. Facilitates all website requests to final production (e.g., facilitating code changes; creating & revising page designs, sourcing new features & functionality, creating new sections and sub-sites for the portal).



Position will coordinate with editorial, brand & creative, and webcast leads to identify & develop new capabilities for the Portal that benefit their respective areas of focus (e.g., targeted news delivery for specific audience segments). Position will work closely with EIT and freelance software vendors to develop capabilities on an ongoing basis.



Position participates in the development of T-Mobile’s communication planning process including knowledge of key stakeholders, development of key messages and tactical plans to support the organization’s positioning and priorities. Position acts as an advisor on communications for T-Mobile, interacting with internal and external stakeholders and manages implementation.



Primary Duties and Responsibilities



Business Partnership: Serves as a business partner and provides strategic counsel primarily regarding ways to maximize communications effectiveness via the portal.


Becomes knowledgeable about the specific focus area of business in order to help clarify client communications requirements and coordinates service delivery. Recommends and supports new or improved workflow procedures to leadership as needed.



Acts as liaison between key business stakeholders, web development & application support teams, responds to questions/ issues and reacts quickly when required. Proactively communicates status requests to business owners and key stakeholders as needed, and manages deliverable/launch expectations with all business owners. Tracks and monitors requests from inception to completion. Oversees and makes sure timelines are being followed for multiple requests. Shifts priorities quickly to ensure deadlines are met.



Products and Services Communications: Partners cross functionally to build communication strategies and tactics that highlight various products/services, enhance brand reputation, and reinforce service leadership and network quality perceptions and other key initiatives across critical internal and external stakeholders, may include the news media.



Internal Communications: Develops and implements internal employee communications and “voice” utilizing innovative communications solutions. Ensures timely and effective implementation of integrated communications to support business priorities and future success.



Proactively evaluates portal performance, user experience and content control and makes recommendations or changes as needed. Reports on portal effectiveness based on stakeholder feedback and business results.



Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by management as needed. Examples may include team maintenance functions, phone inventory management, writing stories for the web; generate, monitor and update content for the portal and other on-line resources.



Experience


5+ years developing and executing communication plans in an agency or corporate environment. Must be skilled at writing/editing newspaper, magazine, website and/or corporate communications.


5+ years working in a fast paced, high volume Marketing, Communications, and/or Public Relations function for a large corporation or agency; strong cross functional partnership experience.


Exceptional writing abilities and presentation skills including experience such as a lead spokesperson and understanding of the digital space.


Experience working with and counseling mid-level leadership


4 + years internet/web industry including large scale web systems project management


4 + years project management includuing creating detailed business cases and business requirement documents


Demonstrated a solid knowledge of Enterprise Content Management best practices. Demonstrated experience with Enterprise Portal Solutions. Specific experience with MOSS is a plus. Demonstrated experience with EMC/Documentum. Content Model Design expertise including metadata, user interface and information retrieval experience. Rich expertise in Internet/Intranet Technology as well as Enterprise Portal experience.


Telecommunications industry and cross-cultural experience; background in consumer technology

Demonstrated strong organizational skills with a history of anticipating issues and taking proactive action to develop and implement an appropriate response plan. Comfortable multi-tasking and able to deliver results under pressure and tight deadlines.


Excellent problem solving and analytical skills


Proficient using MS Office Suite and familiar with various digital tools and emerging technologies


Core Competencies: Writing, Editing, Oral, Integrated Communications, Primary/Secondary Research, Crisis Management



Education


BA/BS Communications, Journalism, English, PR or related field required.
