Collector: Mountain America Credit Union

• Ensure the needs of the owners and the credit union are met through professional, legal and effective collection procedures.
• Exemplify your role as a team member to promote and maintain effective partnerships with your team and your customers.
• Incorporate MACU values and philosophy while fulfilling your responsibilities as a representative of the Loan Control department and the credit union.
• Responsible to collect a category of assigned accounts.
• Collect past due loans, resolve problems with member loans and accurately document all collection information to minimize credit union losses.
• Counsel with members by telephone and mail regarding loan problems, and record any contact made with members.
• Verify credit bureau information off microfiche, and update and correct credit bureau reports.Key file maintenance on accounts and transfer payments on delinquent accounts.
• Assist in researching accounts and taking appropriate action as recommended by manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Abilities usually acquired in one to two years of related work experience. Knowledge of skip tracing tools, and credit union collection policies and procedures preferred. Ability to use a computer, and perform mathematical calculations. Ability to communicate effectively. Must be detailed oriented, self-motivated, have excellent follow through and the ability to multi-task.
