Cabell County Commission is seeking a qualified person to assist with purchasing and related activities. Under general supervision, this person will perform complex clerical work, organize and coordinate purchasing activities and similar work. Applicant must have high school degree and related educational training or related job experience. Duties include: *Generation of requisitions for various county departments and reviewing requisitions from other offices to ensure conformity with state and county policies. *Preparation of purchase orders from requisitions. *Maintaining rapport with a large number of county vendors. *Receipt, deposit and tracking of various accounts and receivables. *Preparation of monthly reports. *Liaison with insurance companies regarding medical, liability, and property claims. *Maintaining record of county vehicle fleet. *Serving as secretary to the local emergency planning commission. *Assisting of county personnel with purchasing related problems. *Other related duties as needed. Skills should include bookkeeping, familiarity with government purchasing procedures, spread sheet expertise, attention to detail, typing accuracy and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
