Nurse Manager, PACU/ACU/Endoscopy-Operating Room: Brattleboro Memorial Hospital

The Nurse Manager for the PACU/ACU/Endoscopy units is responsible to the Director of Perioperative Services and delegates those interventions which may be performed by others. The Nurse Manager supervises others as appropriate, assists in maintaining a safe environment for the rendering of effective nursing care, provides education to patients, families and health professionals and collaborates with other health professionals in the planning and management of the PACU/ACU/Endoscopy patient experience, peri-anesthesia/endoscopic patient care processes and the smooth flow of patient care through these departments. The Nurse Manager's responsibilities include performance reviews for assigned FTE's and department policy oversight.

The Nurse Manager is responsible for establishing priorities, coordinating the daily operations and functioning of the PACU/ACU/Endoscopy care processes. The Nurse Manager participates in and ensures the delivery of care by competent/trained staff according to the patient population and professional standards, level of technology required, complexity of needs and the age of the patient. The Nurse Manager works closely with both physicians and nurses to provide leadership and expertise with an emphasis on excellence; safe, efficient patient flow and patient, physician and staff satisfaction.

Qualifications include a VT license and CPR certification. BSN preferred. Ambulatory, Same Day Surgery and/or PACU experience required. Demonstrated leadership experience required, preferably 3 years in Perioperative Services. OR expe rience preferred, but not required. IV Certification or demonstrated skills required. Computer knowledge preferred. CNOR or CSPAN or CAPA preferred.
