The Regional Marketing Director offices in the UnitedHealthcare facility in Rockville, MD.
The position manages one or two Marketing Specialists and reports to the Vice President, Marketing for the Northeast Region of the United States.
In close collaboration with the UnitedHealthcare leadership teams, the Regional Marketing Director (RMD) will develop the marketing strategy and ensure flawless execution of marketing initiatives to support health plan priorities and surpass net membership growth and operating income targets for MD, DC, VA, and PA. The position is predominantly B-to-B focused, with some additional oversight of our member outreach communications. The RMD is accountable for maximizing in-market impact of all appropriate broker and employer marketing programs - advertising, broker events, sponsorships, direct marketing, growth programs, persistency programs, etc. Relationship-building and communication skills are critical as the RMD ensures marketing strategies and programs are aligned with local health plans and executive leadership.
- Transform the goals and objectives of the health plans and regions into high-impact, prioritized and well coordinated marketing activities that cultivate broker relationships and drive customer/member acquisition & retention.
- Provide clear and decisive leadership on marketing programs that best drive membership growth and retention.
- Ability to develop marketing solutions that differentiate products/services that are largely commoditized.
- Develop strategies and marketing plans for each market, with an eye for innovative approaches.
- Communications verbally and in written form are critical- they must be clear, direct, professional and partner-oriented.
- Prioritize heavy volumes of work
- Lead end-to-end analysis and diagnostic activities of market, membership, competition and trends. Identify areas of greatest market opportunity and evaluate full set of marketing techniques, tools and assets available for driving growth and retention.
- Manage budgets to optimize operational and fiscal efficiency of marketing programs.
Qualifications
Demonstrated career progression in marketing to a leadership role.
Marketing experience within a broker/agent dependent distribution or health care space model.
Proven strategic perspective, translating into a plan, and leading teams through implementation..
Strong project management skills and demonstrated history of managing significant and complex projects.
Able to provide work direction, performance management, and career guidance by attracting and retaining top talent.
Strong business and financial acumen with experience in measurement, data analysis and interpretation.
