CompWest, a dynamic Workers’ Compensation insurance carrier seeks a Claims Examiner in our San Francisco office. CompWest is re-inventing the manner in which Workers Compensation Insurance services are provided to employers and Injured Workers. CompWest is owned by Accident Fund, and is ‘A’ rated by Best.

Responsibilities:

  • Contact with insured’s, Injured Worker, agents, and parties involved
  • Complete initial investigation of claim: 3-pt contact
  • Evaluate claim information and work with the client to pursue claim resolution
  • Adhere to CA Labor Code
  • Work with claims manager
  • Facilitate claim reviews
  • Work with Loss Control & Underwriting departments

Requirements:

  • Qualified for designation as an Experienced Claims Adjuster in accordance with California regulations preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical terms and CA workers’ compensation codes
  • 5-10 yrs workers’ compensation claims experience
  • SIP preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Possess excellent decision making and analytical skills
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Computer proficient
  • College Degree or equivalent experience preferred
