SEEKING: Sr Engineering Manager (Software, Systems Engineering, Program Mgmt) -- Cable, Digital Video, STB

* OUR OBJECTIVE: TechTalent is identifying candidates for our client for a key leadership position. Candidates for this position should have experience managing major projects or engagements for a digital video equipment developer or service operator (ideally in Cable, but IPTV, Satellite as well) in a role such as: Engineering Manager / Director, Program Manager, Field Support Manager, or System Architect (with strong management experience as well).

* FOCUS-AREA REQUIREMENTS (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY):

Candidates must have experience with digital video systems including technical leadership or program management of digital video systems -- ideally for cable systems. The candidate should have software management experience as well as strong end-end digital video systems understanding and expertise (digital video settop boxes, encoder, satellite systems, multiplexers, head-end equipment, conditional access (security) and/or digital video servers). Candidates should also have a knowledge of digital video systems end-end and protocols such as MPEG,IP, DVB,ATSC, IP-VIDEO, Tru2Way, etc... as well as experience managing software systems development (ideally with a supplier for cable or IPTV systems equipment). Experience with equipment by suppliers such as Scientific Atlanta, Motorola, Tandberg, NDS, Nagravision, etc. is ideal.

* JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client is seeking a strong engineering manager with broad experience in managing projects for deployment and the candidate should have experience overseeing architecture and specifications development thru to deployment and systems testing. Significant experience managing customer engagements is essential, as this individual will also manage the customer relationship from a technology perspective, develop project plans, and assume responsibility for a quality technical delivery and successful field rollout.

* LOCATIONS: Live anywhere -- but must be willing to travel extensively, including approximately 1 week per month in India.

* OPTIONS: this position is available either as an employee position. Contractor candidates will also be considered as long as they are potentially available for longer-term engagements. Candidates with prior Director or VP level experience will also be considered.
