*Senior Software Engineer

EMC is looking for experienced engineers to join our Clariion Software Development team in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The team’s primary resposibility is to design, develop and maintain Clariion midrange storage software features.

Candidates would work within a team to design, implement and debug high-quality software to run in a demanding time-critical environment. Work may include both development of new software products as well as support of already released products. Attention must be paid to working within the overall product architecture and interface definitions. Applicants must have demonstrated the ability to successfully handle multiple concurrent tasks and interface well with other engineers.

May be responsible for technical leadership of one or more engineers, including setting priorities, monitoring quality, timeliness of work and providing advice and guidance on appropriate techniques to resolve issues.
Qualifications Required

Required experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline


• 4 or more years of relevant experience

• Full Software Development lifecycle experience


• Design and development of software applications to run in time-critical environment


• C, C++ Programming


• Multi-tasking operating system development


• Good verbal and written communication skills


• Ability to analyze and produce solutions to complex technical problems

Desired experience:

• Windows NT or XP kernel device driver development and debugging.


• Perl scripting


• Meeting facilitation/coordination


• Technical documentation development


• Ability to interface well with technical leaders and management


• Theory and operation of RAID Storage Systems


• Advanced Storage System Features (High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Replication)


• Version Control of large software projects using ClearCase tools
