Network Security Engineer I - (Job Number: HV-0038-20091104) Description The Network Security Engineer I is responsible for safeguarding company information systems including the Company data and enterprise network assets. The Network Security Engineer I is primarily concerned with Company information, hardware and software, and data processing and data communications. The Network Security Engineer I analyzes information security systems and applications and recommends and develops security measures to protect information assets against unauthorized modification or loss. Additionally, the Network Security Engineer I troubleshoots advanced network access problems and ensures network security policies and procedures are adhered to. The Network Security Engineer I also ensures adequate controls to protect against unauthorized access, modification or destruction of network, data, hardware, or other company resources.
1. Provide leadership in Corporate IT for the development of appropriate, tightly integrated, reliable, available, secure, flexible, and fault- tolerant systems.
2. Perform impact analysis to Network Security architecture
3. Plan and participate fully in Network Security projects, both internal and cross-functional.
a Makes decisions which impact projects within scope of authority
b Provides communication at all levels regarding status of projects
c Identifies and evaluates project dependencies
4. Participate in the definition of network security strategy.
5. Design and implement processes for monitoring security.
6. Proactively identify problems and initiates appropriate corrective action.
7. Support and consult with CCE security governance and compliance.
8. Perform risk analysis for network and application security.
9. Update and maintain security programs and documentation for monitoring and compliance.
10. Create authorization lists or directs associates to create access privileges.
11. Interact with Internal audit to resolve security issues.
12. Assist in maintaining and communicating general corporate budgeting, policies and procedures relating to information security.
13. Design, implement, and test information technology security mechanisms and systems in the context of the networking infrastructure.
14. Act as consultant to other functional teams to help define needs and requirements and determine security implications.
15. Well defined analytical and problem solving abilities. Good communication and presentation skills, basic project management skills.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Acknowledged authority in a focus area of technology
- Required: 2+ years in the Network Security projects/initiatives
- 2+ years experience in Network Security in one or more of the following disciplines: Security architectures and designs, Threat assessment and mitigation, Security operations, Security Governance, Security Monitoring and reporting.
- Cisco PIX/ASA
- Checkpoint Firewall Experience.
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
- Excel, Margin Minder: Platforms: Nokia Firewall, Cisco Pix/ASA Firewalls, Bluecoat Proxy Server, Nortel Contivity, IBM, HP; Databases: SQL, Access; Operating Systems: Checkpoint Secure Platform, Blue Coat Security Gateway OS, Nokia IPSO, UNIX/Linux, Nortel VPN OS; Windows 2000/2003; Applications: Checkpoint NG; RSA ACE (AIX): ION Prism; Funk Steel Belted Radius; Cisco ACS; Cisco MARS/CSM; Iron Mail; Cisco IOS; IDS
