QA/Family Advocates needed to ensure quality mental health services are being provided



Position Title: Quality Assurance - Family Advocate

Opening Date: 10/20/09 Closing Date: 11/20/09

Position Description: Quality Assurance / Family Advocates act as auditors on the behalf of the Agency and its consumers to ensure that adequate mental health service is being provided. QA/FAs monitor and evaluate the standards, levels, and needs for each client, in addition to the quantity of therapy/CSI services being provided to each consumer. QA/FAs ensure and maintain Agency linkages between community resources and referral sources, and obtains additional information to properly treat clients for MH services. QA/FAs also assist in identifying specific clients' health and mental needs and ensuring that these needs are met by collaborating with a team of mental health professionals and clinical administrators.

Major Duties:

The candidate will perform the following duties: (1) Facilitate staffings for each consumer every 30 days and per staffing request; (2) Facilitate FTM staffing process to identify community linkage needs; (3) Contact all referral sources and additional MDT team members for staffing participation; (4) Review and obtain all previous records for consumer prior to scheduled staffing dates for ISP or IRP modification to include all school records; (5) Submit needed forms to All MDT members for the purpose of gathering additional information for updated treatment form; (6) Coordinate submission of invitational letters to all MDT team members; (7) Ensure and review all Clinical logs and agency required documentation for submission to all referral sources weekly as required; (8) Serve as the Quality Assurance Coordinator for assigned therapists and case managers individual cases; (9) Report to Program Administrator/ Supervisor; (10) Submit billable notation of identified linkage; (11) Obtain signature sheets and additional required agency forms from staffing; (12) Obtain needed consents for updated records; (13) Indentify needed assessment updates such as psychological and psychiatric for the purpose of ensuring yearly verifiable diagnosis; (14) Submit required weekly reports to identified supervisor as required by the agency; and (15) Attend weekly staff meetings and trainings as required.

Qualifications/Requirements (PLEASE READ): If all qualifications are not met, your application will not be considered.

Qualifying experience for this position includes at least two (2) years of specialized experience which is directly related to the position, and has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge and skills to successfully perform the duties of the position. Candidate must have a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Chemical Dependency, Counseling, or Criminology (or an approved Human Services major). LAPC, LMSW, LAMFT, LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or LPN status in the state of Georgia is a plus. Also, the candidate should have experience with C&A clients, Individual Service Plans (ISPs), and familiarity with clinical (mental health) terminology.
Bilingual a plus. Must be a U.S. citizen.
