External Description: Providence is calling a Recreation Assistant.
Will work in the Rehab Department and assists with one-on-one program activities at regular intervals as assigned. Conducts client assessments to determine interests and hobbies and documents each client's participation on progress flow sheet. Understand the individual care plan and focus on the objectives during groups. Plan and implement group and individual activities during main program hours. Assists with keeping activity locations adequately stocked with one-on-one supplies and equipment. Arranges room and collects necessary equipment and supplies for scheduled activities as assigned. Works with volunteers assigned to the recreation department. Assists in transporting clients to and from all activities and assisting with personal care needs. Prints and distributes weekly announcements of current activities as reminders to staff, clients and their families. Assists in maintaining group activity attendance records as assigned. Assists in Community outings and maintains bulletin boards with themes or changes as needed to reflect current events.

Position Specifics.
This position is located at Providence Mother Joseph Care Center in Olympia, WA. This is an On-call, Rotating/Variable Shift opportunity.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Licenses/Certifications: A valid Washington State driver's license and have access to daily use of an insured reliable vehicle or an alternate ability to travel to sites as required. Current CPR Certification may be required.
Experience: Two years experience working with a diverse population, with physical and cognitive disabilities, in a skilled nursing facility, assisted living, or Alzheimer center preferred.
