Job Description: The technician shall provide on-site field engineering and technical support services for Norfolk Navy Shipyard (NNSY) and provide technical support and assistance to assess, inspect and correct system faults primarily for the Naval Modular Automated Communications Systems (NAVMACS), Single Audio Systems (SAS) and ancillary equipments. The technician shall identify and correct anomalies associated with installation, operation, maintenance, and connectivity problems on primary for NAVMACS/SAS systems and secondary on other navy communication systems. He shall provide onboard maintenance training to ship’s force technicians in the operation, repair, maintenance, and logistics support of listed systems. The technician shall perform functional checks and program review support for NAVMACS/SAS and other navy communications systems. Required Skills: The applicant must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Naval Modular Automated Communications Systems (NAVMACS) and Single Audio Systems (SAS) including a minimum of five (5) years total experience in troubleshooting, repair and assessment of NAVMACS/SAS systems / equipments (experience may be concurrent). They shall demonstrate and outline specific experience gained in troubleshooting, repair and assessment on the NAVMACS/SAS systems / equipments, including amount of experience gained and where experience was gained. Applicants shall demonstrate any special electronic repair skills / certifications attained including basic/advanced soldering, wire-wrap and connectorization.
