Job Description

Siemens Government Services (SGS) is a dynamic and rapidly growing organization. We are seeking a self-driven individual to complement our growing team.

Responsibilities include:
• Develop test plans, specifications and procedures for integrated security systems and components and provide a comprehensive definition of all aspects of systems development and engineering from analysis of mission needs to verification of system performance including reliability, availability and maintainability analysis.
• Plan and exercise control over operational, functional and performance phases of product testing and analyze results to determine if products meet customer requirements for use in government facilities.
• Evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services and identify viable alternatives.
• Author a variety of documents containing evaluation results and recommendations, product application guidelines, troubleshooting procedures and others as required. Conduct interoperability testing with legacy and integrated systems, often with IP network devices and monitoring software.
• Recommend system additions and/or equipment enhancements.
• Provide technical support to customer engineering personnel.

Requirements include:
• Prefer a BS degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field, coupled with directly related experience. Education requirements may be substituted with a combination of education/experience, (i.e. AS degree or prior military electronics training combined with industry experience.), or extensive direct experience performing duties similar to those required by this position. Must have strong background in electronics, testing and troubleshooting.
• Experience and in-depth knowledge in one or more of the following areas: CCTV Surveillance, Automated Access Control Systems, Personal Identity Verification, and Intrusion Detection Systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to document technical information in layman’s terms.
• Must be able to read, interpret and draft electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience in use of standard hand and power tools as well as test, measurement and diagnostic equipment such as Signal generators, digital multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Experience with Department of State, Diplomatic Security approved, technical security equipment desired.
• Working familiarity with AutoCAD desired.
• Position normally does not involve travel, but special circumstances could require up to 30% domestic and/or overseas travel.

Certifications and Training (a plus, but not required):
• Any DS Technical Security training taken at a Diplomatic Security Training Center
• Automated Access Control systems (e.g. Hirsch, Software House CCure / iSTAR, etc.)
• CCTV Vendor certifications (e.g. Panasonic, Pelco, Bosch, etc.)
• Intrusion Detection Systems (e.g. GE Advent/Alliance/Concord, Honeywell Vista/Ademco, DSP, Bosch, etc.)
• ASIS PSP (Physical Security Professional)

Security Clearance: Must be US citizen and will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
