Job Details:

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • BLS Certification Required
    • 2 years hospital experience required.

    • Assists professional nursing personnel by providing basic nursing care to patients, under direct supervision. Demonstrates quality customer service and is sensitive to the diverse and unique needs of patients based on sex, age, race, and culture. Assists professional nursing personnel by attending telemetry and/or cardiac monitors. Perform clerical and reception duties.

      • Maintains a clean, orderly and safe environment for patients and personnel.
      • Assists nursing staff in ICU as necessary to provide basic nursing care.
      • Requisitions supplies, equipment, maintenance and repair services and prepares related forms. Utilizes supplies, equipment, and resources in a cost effective manner. Maintains par levels.
      • Prioritizes work and provides prompt and efficient service.
      • Acts as a receptionist: Greets persons coming to the nurses' station, answers inquiries, takes and relays messages, keeping staff updated. Maintains patients' rights and confidentiality of information.
      • Complies with established nursing standards, department, unit and hospital policies, procedures, protocols, objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control.
      • Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives, maintain good employee and interdepartmental relationships. Demonstrates effective communication skills.
      • Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings, attends as required.
      • Recognizes and reports to appropriate nursing staff dysrhythmias and or changes in cardiac rhythms on telemetry. Obtain and mounts rhythm strips, answer telephone, operates call light system, attends the nursing station and direct traffic during emergency.
      • Performs clerical duties related to procedures such as admission, discharge, transfer, death, pre and post-op documentation and order transcription. Keeps patients records current and routes patient records as required. Prepares physician orders for checking by RN following order transcription.
